  • Rectangular: up to 4.9m² (Toughened Glass) as standard, up to 7m² single pane to special order.
  • Circular: up to 2.2 m diameter for single pane.
  • Recommended pitch: 5° up to 2m span, 10° over 2m span.

Triple glazed

  • Rectangular: up to 3m² as standard.
  • Circular: up to 1.8m diameter single pane.
  • Recommended pitch: 5º up to 2m span, 10º over 2m span.

Where larger rooflights are required, over and above single maximum pane sizes, we can supply Multi-Section rooflights. These provide the same characteristics and sleek profile as the single pane units. Maximum spans up to 3.2m can be accommodated (free span slope length 3.2m). There is no limit on the length of the rooflight as the units can be added to to create the desired length however the glazing bar centre to centre dimension will depend on the width of the span.

The standard glass specification for rooflights has an outer toughened panel with an Argon filled cavity and inner Low-E laminated or heat soak tested toughened (HST) panel. They can be supplied in both double glazed and triple glazed versions with the option of sandblasted or painted borders.

The glass thickness for the outer panel ranges from 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm toughened with the inner panel being 5mm, 6mm, 8mm heat soak tested toughened or 6.8mm, 8.8mm, 10.8mm, 13.5mm and 17.5mm clear laminated. Triple glazed units have a 6mm heat soak tested toughened intermediate panel.

For additional security and peace of mind we also off the Fixed Flatglass Protect+ rooflight which has been awarded Certisecure accreditation. This is achieved through specialist design, using stronger laminated glass and upgraded fixings to maximise the product security.

The Fixed Flatglass Protect+ unit has undergone specific attack testing by Exova, a leading independent testing facility to determine whether it can withstand an intruder attempting to gain entry to a property via the rooflight.

Flatglass Walk-On Rooflights

Walk-On rooflights are designed to the current British and European Standards (BS EN 1991-1-1), they have the capacity to withstand a uniformly distributed load of 1.5kN/m2, or a concentrated load of 2.0kN. Higher loads can be accommodated via special order.

As with standard rooflights our Walk-On rooflights are available in Rectangular, Circular, Square, Multi-Section and Bespoke configurations.

Our Walk-On specification rooflights are available in a range of standard kerb sizes:

  • Single panel - up to 1.2 x 3m or 3.6m², larger sizes are also available.
  • Multi-Section - up to 2.4m slope span, unlimited length with bays at up to 1.2m centres.

Walk on rooflights have an Anti-Slip glass surface to BS 7976-2.

For Commercial applications we use 39mm toughened laminated outer with 16mm argon cavity and 6mm low-e toughened inner (heat soaked toughened).

For Heavy duty commercial applications we increase the outer to 48mm toughened laminated.

Our electric hinged Flatglass rooflights are operated by fully concealed 24v or 230v chain actuators. Minimum kerb span required: 500mm.

Maximum standard kerb sizes for electric hinged rooflights:

  • Square: up to 1.8m x 1.8m²
  • Rectangular: up to 1.2m x 2.7m or 3.3 m²

Larger sizes require multiple, synchronised actuators and specialist refurb planning.

Manual Hinged

Our manual hinged Flatglass rooflights are operated by a worm gear spindle.
