The use of vertical posts in balustrade, staircase and balcony design is more traditional and far more widespread than other systems, especially when glass is not included.
However with the inclusion of glass you can create a stunning, contemporary feature with the emphasis on the structure itself as well as the invisibility of the glass.
The option of vertical steel baluster posts with toughened or laminated glass panels brings a contemporary look with the option of a matching handrail in steel or wood. This is a practical system for staircases and for commercial applications which do not warrant a channel system, whereby the glass thickness can be minimised and as such the cost reduced. You still benefit from having glass panels in between the posts which are fixed at 1m to 1.2m centres, affording optimum light and visibility with matching economy.
Another option for balconies and balustrades is that of tensioned cable, with eye bolts secured to end posts and drilled holes to intermediates with 4 or 6mm diameter stainless steel cables tensioned between. Horizontal cables give an architectural look and feel fitting in well with coastal and riverside projects.
For Juliet balconies we offer purpose designed systems with posts or rails to the top and bottom or to each side of the glass panel. The glass is either housed within a groove or secured with clamps.
With all post systems customizable elements such as round or square posts and hand rails and satin or polished steel finishes all allow you to further enhance the appearance. Wooden handrails are another option if you want to mix materials and add a bit of warmth to the aesthetic.
